Welcome to our school

welcome

Crookhill Primary School is situated on the outskirts of Ryton.

At Crookhill Primary School, our children are educated in a caring family atmosphere, in a stimulating and rich environment. We have high expectations of all our pupils and our aim is for them to reach their full potential. Our recent Ofsted report graded Crookhill as a Good School with many outstanding features. “pupils’ achievement is good and behaviour is exemplary. The curriculum is outstanding and extended in innovative ways. Care, guidance and support are outstanding” – November 2007.

There are currently 135 pupils aged 4-11 years on roll and there is also an Early Years for children aged 2-4 years and a breakfast and after-school club known as GAP. We offer a range of after-school clubs such as Production club, netball and basketball, sewing, ICT and recorder to name just a few.

We believe that by working alongside parents and the community we can develop a real partnership to benefit our children. We hope that this website informs and involves parents about your child’s experiences at Crookhill. Why not take a look at what’s been happening in our classes and see why everyone at Crookhill is so proud of our school.

      Fantastic Fencers

Crookhill fencing team wowed spectators at the first ever Gateshead Mini Fencing Festival.  The team showed off their fantastic footwork and terrific talent and out of 14 teams came 2nd, 3rd and 4th.  Look at the video on the Gateshead SSP showing the whole festival.  I could not have been more proud of you all.  Well Done.  http://www.gatesheadssp.org.uk/news/article/nid/68

            Class Six Prom!

Last night Class Six braved the pouring rain to attend the highlight of the Crookhill calendar - yes it was Prom Night!!
IMAG0303.JPGWho are those children?! We all looked fantastic in our glamorous dresses and smart suits.

The venue was fantastic. The room was beautifully decorated with balloons and hooters - the didn't last long!

IMAG0311.JPGIt didn't take us long to settle into party mode.

The food was lovely. Pizza, chicken dippers and curly fries followed by flumps and glittery cupcakes - bliss!

IMAG0336.JPGDuring the Award Ceremony we each got a special mention for an individual characteristic and we received a lovely gift (thank you to Mrs Dance from Crookhill News for organising these).

Then it was the moment we had all been waiting for.....Crookhill's first ever Prom King and Queen!

IMAG0351.JPGThen all of us, including the teachers, had a really good dance. The conga around the Golf Club was fantastic! A big thank you to Mr Bennett, one of our parent Governors, for DJ-ing for us.

IMAG0368.JPGOur behaviour was fantastic and we all had a wonderful time. Thank you to all the parents and staff that made this such a memorable night that we will remember for a long, long time.
