This term, classes five and six have really enjoyed learning about World War Two. On Monday, we all came to school dressed as evacuees!!
We all lined up in the hall - some of us had even brought our teddies for the long journey that lay ahead...
We were 'chosen' by local villagers (who looked suspiciously like our teachers but in rather odd clothing....!)
We had fun making Anderson Shelters....
...and following a war-time recipe for Vinegar cake! It actually tasted quite nice!
We designed posters to help with the war effort. Remember Class Six - careless talk costs lives!
We were really fortunate that Liam's Grandparents were able to come along and tell us about their experiences of being evacuated. It was really interesting to hear a first hand account of what happened to them during the war.
Everyone had a great day! A big thank you to everyone who was involved! Remember to take a look in the gallery for more evacuee photos!
