« Friday Letter | Main | Den Building! »

This week is creativity week and the whole school is looking at ways to make us a greener school. Reception class have chosen to look at looking after and developing the school grounds by supporting the wildlife that use our fields. Today we have focused on the birds that use our land and worked on building nests for them. DSC00415.JPGWe collected leaves, sticks and nice soft objects such as feathers for the linings for our nests. We made sure they were not on the ground so if any birds do use these nests they will be safe from other animals.

The children throughout the year have a strong focus on junk modelling using rubbish such as boxes, tubes and bottles. We have taken this one step further and are using the natural materials around us to build other things. We have started collecting large pieces of wood to made dens and other things.

We used our team building skills to work together to move large branches.

Some pieces were just to big to move ......

but we had a go anyway.

Make sure you keep checking the web to see the other things we do this week.
