This afternoon Class 2 had a delicious picnic by the Christmas Tree. We had sandwiches, pizza, crisps, biscuits and fruit.
Once we had finished eating our picnic we gathered together all the waste and left over food. We had to sort everything into things we could recycle and things we couldn't recycle.
We were able to recycle the pizza box and grape plastic box.
We couldn't recycle the crisp packets or the garlic bread wrapper.
We then put all the things we could recycle in one bag and the things we couldn't recycle in another bag and used a force metre to measure the weight of the bags.
Our recycle bag weighed 250g.
Our non recycle bag weighed 1200g. Most of the weight came from left over food so we need to try and make only enough food so that we don't waste adding to the amount of waste we have to throw away.
