Reception class have been working on their topic for sustainable schools. As part of our topic we are looking at preserving the buildings and grounds. The trees we ordered from the Woodland Trust came this week so we planted them in the lower part of the field.

We dug holes in the ground deep enough for the tree to be covered. We packed in the compost so the trees would not blow over in the wind.

Once they were planted we watered them well because we know that the trees will need water to help them grow.

When our trees were planted we had a look around the grounds to see if there anything else that needed to be done. On our travels we found a huge patch of mud. We think it is a giants footstep. What do you think???

We followed the footprints and it led us into the forest area of the field. There was lots and lots of fallen branches. Willow thought that it looked like the fairy houses had been destroyed by the giant and that we should help the fairies by building them some new homes.

This looks like a very cosy home for a fairy.
