Class 2 have had a wonderful day at the Discovery Museum today. To support our topic about water we have been to visit the Play Tyne attraction at the museum. We had great fun playing in the model of the Rver Tyne. Can you spot the Millenium Bridge?

It wasn't just the Millenium Bridge though, there was the Tyne Bridge and the Swing Bridge too.

We had so much fun playing in the water, using the cranes and boats.

In fact, it was so much fun, some of us got carried away and got rather wet!!!!!
We even turned our hand to ship building, and made our own boats to float on the River Tyne. Mrs Kappen was the principal ship builder leading the way!
Once we had built our boats, it was a race to see who's was the best!

We all had such an amazing time in the water!! So much so we all want to go back again another day!
But that wasn't our adventure over, we had even more fun exploring the museum. We went around all of the other exhibitions in the museum too. One of the exhibitions was looking at the role of the River Tyne and how important it is. This group were finding out just how much hard work it used to be working on the river lugging the cargo off the ships onto the docks.

After all that hard work, it was time to find out what happens to all of our dirty water. Ask the children what happens when you flush the toilet!!!

Another exhibition looked at how our clothes have changed across the ages. We all thought that some of the outfits were vary strange. But at least we got the opportunity to dress up!
To finish the day we went into the science maze. We had so much fun looking at shadows, sound and light. But the most fun of all was getting the chance to play air hockey!! I think the children would all agree that Miss Malley was the champion!!
We have all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves today, and well done Class 2, you were all brilliant!!
