To end our Geography topic on volcanoes, we went on a rock hunt around our school. We remembered the different types of rocks that we were taught in our Science lessons. We also discussed the difference between natural and man-made rocks.

We used an ariel photograph of our school to mark where we found any rocks. We also tried to identify them. Most of the rocks we found were sedimentary rocks and we explained this by saying that our school was close to a river. We didn't find any igneous rocks as we are not close to a volcano.
